EasySecure.cloud - How to setup 2FA






In this article we will show you how to activate 2 factor authentication within your EasySecure software environment. There are two different methods of 2FA / 2 factor authentication you can use within the software.

  1. Login with password + Access Card. This requires our USB cardreader.
  2. Login with password + Google Authenticator. 

Please note! Make sure you have connected a card or a Google Authenticator code to a administrator before enforcing 2FA in your security menu. This will make sure you can still log into your EasySecure environment after 2FA activation. 


Connecting Access Card to Administrator 

Please read the following article for more information about creating and editing administrators. In this article we will show you how to connect a access card to a administrator and how to use that card for 2FA. 

  1. Open the 'Administration' menu on the left side of your screen.
  2. Open the 'Administrators' sub-menu. 
  3. Edit an existing administrator in order to add a card. 
  4. On the right side of your screen you can find three different tabs that can be used for secure login. Finger templates, card management and Google Authenticator. 
  5. Click card management.
You will now see the following screen: 





In order to connect a access card you need to have a USB card reader plugged into your PC. 
  1. Click the field USB Card Reader
  2. Place a card on your USB Card Reader
  3. There will now be a value added to the field Card ID and Card custom. 
  4. You can now use the card to login to the software after you activated the 2FA setting in our security menu. 




After activating the 2FA setting with card you will be forced to place your card on the USB reader after entering your login name and password. 

Click the field marked as 'Card' and place the card on the USB reader. You will now directly login.



Connecting Google Authenticator to Administrator 

Please read the following article for more information about creating and editing administrators. In this article we will show you how to connect a Google Authenticator code to a administrator and how to use that code for 2FA. 

  1. Open the 'Administration' menu on the left side of your screen.
  2. Open the 'Administrators' sub-menu. 
  3. Edit an existing administrator in order to add a card. 
  4. On the right side of your screen you can find three different tabs that can be used for secure login. Finger templates, card management and Google Authenticator. 
  5. Click Google Authenticator.  
You will now see the following screen:



  1. Click on the Google Authenticator Tab on the right side of the administrator screen
  2. Open Google Authenticator on your phone. If you do not have the app please download it from your app store. 
  3. Click the + icon within your Google Authenticator app to scan a QR code. 
  4. Scan the QR code.
  5. You will now see 'EasySecure International' in your list of authenticator codes. 
  6. Add the code visible on your phone in the 'code' field within the EasySecure software. 
  7. Click 'Done'. 
  8. You can now use Google Authenticator to login to the software after you activated the 2FA setting in our security menu. 

After activating the 2FA setting with Google Authenticator you will be forced to enter your code after entering your login name and password. 

Click the field marked as 'Google Authenticator Code' and enter the code that you retrieved from your Google Authenticator app on your smartphone. 





Activating 2FA in Security Menu 

After you have connected a 2FA registration method to the existing administrators you can activate it within your software environment. 
  1. Click Settings in the menu on the left side of your screen.
  2. Go to the tab Security
  3. Under 2FA settings you can select the following options:  Disabled, Password + Card and Password + Google Authenticator. 

    1. Select Password + Card to use your access card for 2FA authentication. 
    2. Select Password + Google Authenticator to your the Google Authenticator app for 2FA authentication. 
    3. Select Disable to disable 2FA during login. Please Note:  we highly  recommend using 2FA to upgrade your security.
